Ska, rock steady, reggae, soul and retro pop will come to Lake Tahoe Golf Course this Sunday when Fresno’s King Sugar plays the 10th Tee Summer Music Series.

The nine-piece act has both male and female vocalists, horns and a love for Jamaican-influenced music created to make people dance.

“The band offers a broad musical repertoire ranging from the purely traditional reggae and rock steady grooves of Bob Marley, Jimmy Cliff, and Phyllis Dillon to modern ska staples like The Mighty Mighty Bosstones and Rancid; from the classic 2-Tone sounds of The Specials and The English Beat to fresh versions of pop classics such as ‘Easy’ by The Commodores, Gloria Jones’ original ‘Tainted Love’ and more,” according to a biography of the group by Phyllis Dillon.

Sacramento’s Riotmaker opens the Sunday’s free show, the last of this summer’s 10th Tee performances.

“On Course Events and the Lake Tahoe Golf Course have teamed up to provide the community of Meyers, South Lake Tahoe and visitors a free live music experience – enjoyed best after a round of golf,” according to a press release for the event. “This series will conclude on Sunday, September 20th with free live music, a variety of local vendors and delicious food and drink specials.”
