Skate class starts May 5

The city of South Lake Tahoe Parks and Recreation Department will conduct its next eight-week skate school session May 5 through June 28 at the South Tahoe Ice Arena.

The spring session begins the week of May 5 and consists of one class per week for eight weeks. The cost is $80 and includes a half hour lesson, free skate rental on day of lesson and one free public skate session per week during the eight weeks of instruction.

Classes are offered for all ages and range from beginner to advanced. Figure skating as well as hockey instruction will be offered. Skate school sessions are primarily conducted from 5:15 to 6:45 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays as well as 11:15 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. on Saturday. Additional classes for adults will be offered Monday and Wednesday mornings and Wednesday evenings. An adult aerobics class will be added to the list of classes.
