Ski, board gear taken from Powder-House

Gregory Crofton, Tribune staff writer

Almost $7,000 in ski and snowboarding equipment was stolen sometime Monday night from The Powder-House, a shop inside Forest Inn Suites at 1 Lake Parkway, South Lake Tahoe.

The store showed no signs of forced entry, police said. Employees closed the store at 6 p.m. Monday and reopened Tuesday at 7:30 a.m. to find missing: four K2 double-wide snowboards, five Burton snowboards, four pair of Van boots that go with Switch bindings, five pair of snow pants, 15 ski jackets, 6 ski jackets bearing the Powder-House insignia, eight pair of sunglasses, two pair of goggles, two helmets and one pair of skis.

Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call Secret Witness at (530) 541-6800.
