Ski swap gives skiers a lift

See the best in new and used snowboards, ski equipment and clothing at the Heavenly Ski & Snowboard Foundation Ski and Snowboard Swap Nov. 8 and 9 at Harrah’s Special Events Center.

The swap is an annual fund-raising event with proceeds benefiting the nonprofit organization. The foundation offers Alpine, freestyle and snowboard programs for youths ages 4 through 18. Former members of the United States Ski Team and new head Alpine coach for the foundation will be at the swap on Nov. 9 to sign autographs.

The swap starts with the “Moonlight Madness” presale from 6 to 11 p.m. Nov. 8. Admission is $5 per person and $10 for the entire family. The sale is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Nov. 9 and admission is free.



People who have last year’s gear ready to sell and want to make a little extra money the easy way may bring items to the Heavenly Foundation building, next to the resort’s tram. Public registration dates for the swap are from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 29 and from 3 to 6 p.m. Nov. 3. No bindings are equipment over five years old will be accepted.
