South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue calls blaze at Presbyterian Church ‘suspicious’

South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue is investigating a fire at a local church.

South Lake Tahoe Fire Rescue responded Wednesday night to a structure fire at the Presbyterian Church, at 2733 Lake Tahoe Blvd, that officials are calling suspicious in nature, according to its Facebook page.

SLTFR requested assistance from Lake Valley, Tahoe Douglas and CalTahoe JPA ambulance to respond as well.

SLTF said the first in engine made an aggressive attack and was able to contain the fire to the room of origin with extensive smoke damage throughout the building.

There were no injuries reported.

The cause is under investigation.
