Snow accumulating at South Shore, Sierra-at-Tahoe

Kirstin Cattell/Sierra-at-TahoeSnow flies today at Sierra-at-Tahoe outside of South Lake Tahoe

A heavy band of snow is making its way to Tahoe’s south shore at this hour, bringing with it a temperature of around 30 degrees. A snow advisory remains in effect until 5 p.m., today.

Reports to the Tribune say Christmas Valley has received about 4 inches of snow. Sierra-at-Tahoe communications manager Kirstin Cattell sent us a couple of photographs taken today at the ski resort.

She’s reminding all season passholders of the annual Pray for Snow Party on Nov. 15 at the Rockwater. The party starts at 6 p.m. for season passholders and 7 p.m. for the general public. Free appetizers and free drink tokens will be available for the season passholders who attend the party.
