Soroptimist International of Tahoe Sierra and Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe are accepting applications for the Violet Richardson award.

Each year the two local Soroptimist clubs honor girls and women in the community ages 14-17 who are engaged in volunteer deeds such as fighting drugs, crime and violence; cleaning up the environment; or working to end discrimination or poverty.

Each recipient will receive $100. Interested applicants can visit http://www.sitahoesierra.org or http://www.sislt.org for information and application.

Contact: Sandy Williams kesan7@sbcglobal.net. Applications are due by Dec. 1.
