Soroptimists accepting grant applications

Submitted to the Tribune

Soroptimist International of South Lake Tahoe is accepting grant applications from local nonprofits through Dec. 15.

Each year, SISLT awards grants to 501(c)3 tax-exempt nonprofit organizations that provide services to the South Lake Tahoe community. Its goal is to fund quality projects that serve clearly identified needs of women and children in the South Shore community. They will consider new programs, improvements and enhancements to current programs, as well as supporting programs that have been proven effective in bettering the lives of women and children in the community. SISLT is accepting applications in three categories; programs or projects from $1,000-2,500, $2,500-7,500, and more than $7,500. A maximum of $25,000 in total will be distributed, and distribution is not guaranteed in any or all categories. Grants must be used for community service projects and programs.

All of SISLT’s grant funding comes directly from the organizations’ largest annual fundraiser, “An Evening of Food and Wine Tasting.”

The grant application criteria, and instructions can be downloaded at http://www.sislt.org. The deadline for receipt of applications is Dec. 15. For information, email sisltfoundation@gmail.com or visit http://www.sislt.org.
