A South Lake Tahoe man was killed after he was struck by an SUV Friday evening on Ski Run Boulevard near the intersection of Larch Avenue.

The pedestrian was identified as 44-year-old Craig Davis.

Davis was declared dead at the scene after paramedics performed life-saving efforts without success, South Lake Tahoe Police Department Lt. David Stevenson said.

The incident occurred just before 6:30 p.m. when the driver was traveling away from the lake on Ski Run Boulevard.

The victim, Davis, was reportedly in the middle of the roadway attempting to cross the street when he was struck by the vehicle.

Neither alcohol, drugs nor speed were believed to be a factor, Stevenson said.

It was unclear what caused the driver of the Oldsmobile Bravada SUV, to strike the man.

An autopsy to determine Davis’ cause of death is pending.

The incident is still under investigation.
