South Lake Tahoe Police Explorers compete strongly

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif.- South Lake Tahoe Police Explorers competed at the Central Valley Law Enforcement Explorer Competition from March 18-20 in Tulare, Calif. The Explorer Scouts trained for months in preparation for the event.

Competitors included Explorer Commander Joey Acker, Explorer Sergeant Jose Silva, Explorer Allison Roberts, Explorer Hector Vasquez, and Explorer Vanessa Perez. Under the tutelage and supervision of Officer Rebecca Inman, the SLTPD Explorer Scout Coordinator, these young people competed in thirteen events against about 275 explorers from Police and Sheriff’s Departments from all over California and Nevada. The South Lake Tahoe Police Explorers brought home trophies in eight of the 13 events. Among the trophies won were: Vehicle Search, first place; Crime Scene Investigation, first place; Explorer Ride-A-Long skills, second place; Oral Board Examination, second place; Written Police Officer’s POST Entry Exam, second place (with a score of 97%); physical Agility Tests, one second and one fifth place.
