South Lake Tahoe Women’s Center to change its name

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – After 35 years of doing business as the South Lake Tahoe Women’s Center, the agency is changing its name.

The new name will be announced at a launch party from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Jan. 19 at 2941 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

The ribbon cutting at 6 p.m. will be hosted by the Lake Tahoe South Shore Chamber of Commerce.

Historically known as a refuge for victims of domestic and sexual abuse, the agency is transitioning from a safe haven to a leader in community-wide violence prevention and intervention.

Additionally, they are hoping a new name speaks to the comprehensive and inclusive nature of the agency’s vision. They are launching a complete rebranding effort for their upcoming 35th anniversary in 2012.

This agency has been successful because of the continued community support and would like you to help celebrate their new vision.

Come and enjoy complimentary wine and chocolates from Scott Harvey Winery and Lake Tahoe Chocolate Factory.
