Shannon Roberts, an aspiring 14-year-old ballet dancer from South Lake Tahoe, will be performing in the San Francisco Ballet performances of “The Nutcracker” throughout the month of December.

Roberts, the daughter of Gerald and Laurie Roberts of South Lake Tahoe, is a ninth-grader in Visions Charter School. She began her ballet training locally at the Marcia Sarosik and Dance Visions studios and moved to the San Francisco Bay Area this year after being invited to dance full time with the San Francisco Ballet School. The school offers levels 1 through 8. Roberts is a level 7 with hopes of becoming a member of the company.

She has several small roles in “The Nutcracker,” which include “Waltz of the Flowers,” “Snowflakes,” “Chinese Variations,” “Arabian” and the party scene.
