South Shore man arrested for alleged child molestation

A 54-year-old man from South Shore, who formerly worked as a foster care provider in town, was arrested Sunday for child molestation.

The South Lake Tahoe Police Department received an anonymous tip about a week ago alleging that Drew Seitz had sexually abused a boy.

Seitz arrived Sunday at the police station around noon and was arrested after Detective Donna Kingman interviewed him about his interaction with a boy who is under the age of 14.

Kingman said the boy was never under the foster care of Seitz, but she alleged that the abuse went on for about two years.

Seitz, a welder at Alpine Meadows, a ski resort on the North Shore, has lived at South Shore for more than 10 years. He has been married for 32 years and has two grown sons, one of whom was adopted.

Kingman booked Seitz for lewd and lascivious conduct and oral copulation. His bail was set at $250,000.

Kingman is still investigating the case. Anyone with information is asked to call her at (530) 542-6100.
