Grief forum Monday

Rebecca Phillipsen with Barton Home Health and Hospice will present a forum entitled, “Dealing with feelings of loss and understanding grief,” from 1-3 p.m. Monday, May 12.

The forum will take place at the Lake Tahoe Resort Hotel (formerly Embassy Suites), 4130 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

Learn how to recognize and heal feelings that may be related to grief. This class is designed for people age 60 or older or caregivers who are or are planning to care for a family member or friend age 60 or older. Classes and materials are free. To register, call El Dorado County Family Caregiver Support Program at 530-621-6151.

Rumble makes Oregon’s Dean’s List

Leigh Rumble from South Lake Tahoe was named to the 2014 winter term Dean’s List at the University of Oregon.

Tibetan doctor to present lecture

Amji (Doctor) Kalsang Wangyal will present “Root Causes of Illness” at 7 p.m. Sunday at the Unity at the Lake, 1195 Rufus Allen Blvd.

Dr. Kalsang Wangyal graduated from Tibetan Medical and Astrological Institute in Dharamasala, India in 1994 and was awarded an honorary degree of Menran-pa (T.M.D.) in 2004.

A donation of $10-$20 is suggested.
