South Shore offers St. Patrick’s Day activities

The event was expected to raise about $30,000 for charity and kicked off a weekend full of St. Patrick's Day happenings at the South Shore.

Just about every South Shore restaurant and bar has something going on in celebration of St. Patrick’s Day (and a fresh helping of snow) this weekend. Here is a sampling of establishments offering a taste of Ireland Saturday and/or Sunday:

Where: American Legion Post 795, 2748 Lake Tahoe Blvd.

When: 5-7 p.m. Saturday

What: A corned beef and cabbage dinner will be served. Davin Kangas and the “Cash Only Band” will perform from 7-10 p.m. Door prizes.

What: Local bands, Drought Relief and Snake Belly. Drink specials at all bars. Grand Marnier girls and the 3 Olives Vodka girls giving out free samples and other goodies. Corned beef and cabbage meals served in the Timber House restaurant.

When: Starting at 12 p.m. Saturday, the Zone Bar and the HQ Center Bar will offer $3 Guinness and $3 shots of Jameson. At 10 p.m., Opal Ultra lounge and Blu Nightclub will team up to offer two parties for the price of one. $1 drinks and a green foam party. Giveaways, body painting, go-go dancers.
