South Tahoe All-Stars beat Carson Valley

The 10-11 South Tahoe Little League All-Stars defeated Carson Valley 5-3 Thursday to improve their record to 2-1 in the district tournament in Reno.

Zack Petray pitched a masterful game, giving up only one run in 5 1/3 innings, and striking out eight.

The All-Stars jumped out to an early lead thanks to a two-run home run by Tyler Sharp in the first inning. Tyler Weik contributed two hits, a double and a single in the victory.

Leading 5-1 in the bottom of the sixth, Petray was relieved by Leo Trebotich, who finished off the Valley boys.
