South Tahoe High School beats Sparks

Behind the arm of sophomore pitcher Hannah Neiger, the Vikings beat Sparks 22-11 with six strikeouts in two innings for Neiger. She was 3-5 at the plate, scoring three runs and three RBIs.

Also contributing three RBIs each were junior outfielder Cassara Naccarato, who also had two singles and three stolen bases, and junior catcher Sid Loomis, who also had three singles scoring three times and three RBIs and three stolen bases.

Senior Taylor Embry hit two singles and a double for two RBIs and Sam Durham hit a double and triple, while also pitching two innings for three strikeouts. Junior pitcher Emily Gardner closed the game facing seven batters in two innings with three strikeouts and batting 2-4 with a single and triple and two RBIs.

The Vikings had a total of 19 hits in 5 innings with 18 RBIs. The Vikings will play a couple league games on Friday at Centennial Park in Carson City in a double header against North Tahoe.
