South Tahoe High School students to perform Cinderella starting Friday
South Tahoe High School Drama presents Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella starting this week on campus in the TADA Theater.
This Cinderella play is the story we all know but with new twists.
The classic tale will encapsulate a contemporary take on the idea that still includes Rodgers and Hammerstein’s traditional songs like “In My Own Little Corner,” “Ten Minutes Ago,” and “Impossible” and some new songs.
Along with the comical and romantic book by Tony Award nominee Douglas Carter Bean, there will be new characters, transformations, a pumpkin coach, glass slippers and unforeseen twist that will enchant the crowd.
The musical is directed by Nannette Niven and choreographed by Marcia Sarosik. The cast includes JuJu Hancock as Cinderella and Hayden Waters as her charming prince, with Maddy Evans as the Fairy Godmother, Ridley Baker as the Stepmother, Eleven Turoff & Riley Hoey as the Stepsisters.
The entire cast is over 40 students that include Dean Kallas, Jensen Smith, Douglas Abbott and a whole group of singers and dancers.
Conducting the 12-piece orchestra is Jordan Bagheri, with vocal music direction by Alyssa Little and sets by Drake Niven and Ed Wright.
Come watch what the students perform at 7 p.m. on Nov. 8, 9, 15 and 16.
