South Tahoe JV soccer teams beat North Tahoe

Both South Tahoe High junior varsity soccer teams picked up wins against North Tahoe on Thursday in Tahoe City.

Brianna Carroll, Brooke King and Brittany Hubberts each scored two goals as the Vikings romped to a 9-0 girls’ win against the Lakers. South Tahoe carved out a 21-1 shot edge in a first half that ended with the Vikings ahead 3-0. STHS scored three quick goals in the second half to take a 6-0 lead.

Jenny Burks and Brittany Sanchez each had a goal and an assist, and Esperanza Ramos netted a goal.

STHS, which has a 4-0 season record, plays Spring Creek and Elko on Saturday in Fallon.

Meanwhile, the South Tahoe boys edged North Tahoe 2-1 Thursday as Roger Williams and Andres Orozco scored goals. Orozco’s deciding goal came in the 60th minute – a 40-yard blast.

Noah Palmieri and Kyle Hannah split time in goal, holding the Lakers to one score.

South Tahoe, 3-1 overall, plays two games Saturday in Fallon.
