South Tahoe realty blog offers economic perspective

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – is a website that provides a picture of existing market trends to break down listings, annual sales comparisons and current median home prices in the area for market analysis.

Using a number of reporting techniques, blog developer and founder Richard Bolen tracks real estate trends and reports them to readers.

In 2010 the blog hosts more than 175,000 page views by nearly 116,000 unique visitors.

“There are many methods to report data when it comes to the South Lake Tahoe real estate market,” said Bolen, a Realtor in the region since 2002. “Statistics reported by South Shore agencies tend to vary because of individual interpretation. We’re the first website to strip it down for the reader.”

Precision counts in the South Shore Tahoe real estate climate, Bolen asserts.

“Because buyers and sellers are aware of the real estate market, we’re the source that shows whether or not trends reflect accurate and concise data,” he said.

Bolen also uses YouTube and Vimeo as additional platforms for his readers.

Recently Bolen has partnered with Lake Tahoe Television, http://www.laketahoe, to produce regular pieces that air on the network’s real estate segments.

“We’ve been exploring alternate options to the traditional real estate show that captures not just current listings but examines relevant market data that would be of interest to members of our local community,” said Pete Loughlin, general manager of Lake Tahoe Television. “Richard’s weekly segment will offer a variety of facts that locals and second-home owners want to know; it will be the first locally produced show of its kind to share fresh content and market statistics on a weekly basis.”

Bolen, a Realtor at McCall Realty for 8 years, draws from a number of market data sources to provide a representation of current real estate listings.

His background includes marketing director stints for two publishing firms, a cultural museum and a NASDAQ company. As a copy writer and graphic artist at Disney, Buena Vista, Paramount Pictures and Holland America, he directed and produced national advertising, public relations campaigns and trade show campaigns.
