South Tahoe Refuse and Recycling completed its first “Christmas Cheer All Year” food drive just in time for the Easter.

For almost two months South Tahoe Refuse co-workers helped those in need by collecting non-perishable, non expired food items to be donated to Christmas Cheer.

The company’s goal was to supply food in time for Easter. Another food drive called “Christmas in July” is planed. This would help provide food to families, especially children, in need who are out of school for summer.

STR hosted a raffle to give employees incentive to be involved and bring in goods. There was a grand prize of a candy bouquet with gift cards attached and also a gift card for the person who brought in the most items. The drive collected 220 pounds of food. South Tahoe Refuse and Recycling urges other businesses to participate in a food drive to make a difference all year.
