Speed display signs coming to Zephyr Cove

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Douglas County will install radar speed display units on Warrior Way at Lake Tahoe in the vicinity of the Zephyr Cove Elementary School. The radar units will operate in conjunction with the existing school zone flashing lights and 15 mph speed limit. The new digital display unit will show the speed of vehicles approaching the school zone. The purpose of the units is to slow speeding vehicles in the school zone by increasing driver awareness, making the school zone safer for all. The radar units will be installed before Aug. 18, the first day of school.
