‘Spirit Rising’ focuses on well-being

“Spirit Rising,” a community well-being and awareness gathering, will take place May 20 at Lake Tahoe Community College Duke Theater.

The event is presented by Heaven on Earth Productions, Unity at the Lake and Diamond Eye Event Planning.

A concert and benefit is scheduled from 3 to 6 p.m. Included will be three bands – Java Djembe, One Voice (the Unity band,) and El Vasco Quartet; a silent auction; information and demonstration booths presenting local practitioners and advocates; and well-being speakers with five- to 10-minute spots for services such as massage and acupuncture with sign-up. A smoothie and juice bar will be available for a small charge. Free childcare will also be offered.



The film, “The Consciousness of the Christ – Reclaiming Jesus for A New Humanity,” will be shown at 7:30 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m.

An offering of $10 for the concert and benefit and $10 for the movie is suggested. Proceeds benefit Unity in the Community and Unity outreach programs.
