Greg Bruso went seven innings in his third straight outing to lead San Jose to a 4-2 California League baseball victory at Bakersfield on Saturday night.

Bruso (2-4) pitched the distance for his second victory, surrendering seven hits and two earned runs. He struck out eight and didn’t issue a walk against the Northern Division leaders.

Bakersfield pushed across single runs against Bruso in the fifth and seventh innings.

Bruso leads San Jose starting pitchers with a 3.23 earned run average. He also has walked just four batters while fanning 33.
