Delallo gives Marlins fast relief in win over D-Backs

Max Delallo hurled four no-hit innings of relief and struck out 10 as the Marlins held the Diamondbacks to one hit in a 7-2 South Tahoe Little League majors division victory.

Chris Heng’s homer with out in the second inning was the Diamondbacks’ only hit.

Joel Morris scored twice and Tony Thomaselli doubled for the Marlins.

Giants 21, Reds 4

Matt Stuck and Spencer Orman belted two-run homers and Kyle Dupree was a roundtripper shy of hitting for the cycle as the Giants rolled.

Stuck scored five runs. In addition to his two-run homer in the first inning, Stuck had a triple and two singles.

Cubs 7, Rockies 6

Jake Leonard’s RBI triple in the fourth inning proved to be the difference for the Cubs.

Leonard and Derek Holmgren led the Cubs with a triple and single. Anthony Hackworth, Chris Klug and Michael Wright also had two hits for the Cubs.

The Rockies’ Max Simonian connected for two hits and scored two runs. Steven Mick and Cameron Chase doubled for the Rockies.

Marlins 20, Giants 1

After tossing a perfect game in his previous outing, Joel Morris was nearly as effective, allowing five hits and striking out 11.

The Marlins assumed command with a six-run second inning keyed by Morris’ two-run single. Morris later hit a two-run homer.

The Marlins got a lot of mileage out of leadoff hitter Sam Perini, who hit a triple, double and two singles and scored four times. In addition, Notanee Vasquez collected three his and Max Delallo and Chris Ewing smacked doubles.

Otto Trebotich slapped two singles for the Giants and Kyle Dupree clubbed a double.

Pirates 6, D-Backs 4

Colt Johnson threw a complete-game six-hitter and fanned eight as the Pirates outpitched the Diamondbacks. The D-Backs’ Gary Prescott and Jesse Cruz limited the Pirates to seven hits, but Johnson delivered two of them and scored twice.

The Pirates’ Johnson, Jimmy Talbot and Brett Hartley hit doubles. Prescott and McQuade Brubaker topped the D-Backs’ attack with two hits apiece.

Reds 7, Rockies 4

A triple by Kas Kosciolek and doubles by Alan McLeod and Conner Sass ignited the Reds’ game-deciding six-run third inning.

Kosciolek added a two-run homer in the sixth inning and McLeod hit a second double.

The Rockies generated 11 hits, including three by Max Simonian. T.J. Kolesnik, Steven Mick and Zack Williams turned out two hits.

Cubs 13, A’s 7

Chris Klug came through with three hits and three runs from the eighth spot in the lineup to lead the Cubs past the A’s.

Thomas Eidom also scored three Cub runs and Derek Holmgren had two hits and scored twice. Gavin Chandler charged the A’s offense with a triple and two singles.

Giants 8, A’s 7

Jacob Price struck out the final batter with the bases loaded, allowing the Giants to hold on for the one-run victory.

Price was right at the plate as well, going 4 for 5 with two runs scored. Giant leadoff man Otto Trebotich had a triple and single and scored three runs.

The A’s Gavin Chandler cracked two hits.
