Jamie Anderson and Elena Hight continued their successful snowboarding seasons at the U.S. Open on Saturday and Sunday in Stratton, Vt.

Both South Shore riders stepped onto the podium in their respective events.

Anderson, 15, was third in slopestyle, trailing winner Hana Beaman of Mammoth Lakes and Spencer O’Brien. Tara Dakides of Mammoth Lakes was fourth.

Earlier this season, Anderson collected bronze at the Winter X Games and won the Vans Cup at Tahoe and Chevrolet Grand Prix at Mount Bachelor.

The 16-year-old Hight followed her sixth-place Olympic and fourth-place Vans Cup at Tahoe halfpipe finishes with a third at the Open. Torah Bright of Australia was first and Gretchen Bleiler was second.

Hight also has five Chevrolet Grand Prix podiums this season.

Shaun White of Carlsbad capped his perfect season, winning the men’s halfpipe title. His booty this season includes five Grand Prix wins, Winter X Games gold and Olympic gold.

“I can’t believe what an insane year it’s been for me. I’ve never even made it to the finals at the U.S. Open,” White told U.S. Snowboarding.

It was the eleventh consecutive victory for White, who also captured the slopestyle title.

“Shaun is in a world of his own right now. He completed the perfect season, but there’s always new places to go with this sport,” said U.S. halfpipe coach Bud Keene.

Danny Davis, 17, of Highland, Mich., was runner-up and 18-year-old Mason Aguirre of Mammoth Lakes was third.
