Mariners hand Angels first Babe Ruth loss: Weldy, Brubaker and McBride key decisive rally

Trailing 6-3 the Mariners scored four runs in the bottom of the seventh inning in a 7-6 come-from-behind win over the Angels.

The loss was the first of the South Tahoe Babe Ruth season for the Angels.

Jonathan Weldy, McQuade Brubaker and Will McBride started the rally with singles, with Tanner Burghard scoring the winning run. Ricky Braun paced the Angels with three stolen bases and three runs.



Mariners 17, Giants 7

Ten runs in the first two innings helped the Mariners put away the Giants. It was the Tanner scoring show, with Tanner Braun scoring in each of the first three innings, and Tanner Burghard cross home plate twice on two singles and being hit by a pitch. Kory Mazzoni singled and scored twice for the Giants.



A’s 9, Giants 9

An intense battle between the A’s and Giants ended in a tie. Joe Zanetell singled and doubled, and Will Olney walked three times to each score twice for the A’s. Rick Norlie reached base four times, scoring twice for the Giants.

Padres 11, Yankees 2

Led by a Conrad Iacobellis triple, the Padre scoring machine blasted out eight runs on seven hits in the second inning to dominate the Yankees. Dillon McKeen pitched three scoreless innings, with Matt Stuck relieving in the final three innings. Matt Schorr and Jess Latta each scored for the Yankees.

A’s 15, Yankees 12

Six singles in the second inning, which resulted in seven runs, were enough to help the A’s outscore the Yankees. Jamie Yelles scored three times on two singles and a double, with Joe Zanetell and Jake Drum each singling twice for the A’s. The Yankees mounted a late rally in the seventh inning on singles by Justin Barnard, Matt Schorr and Christian Winslow but came up a few runs short.

Giants 9, Red Sox 8

Philip Cantway scored one of his four runs in the last inning to help the Giants defeat the Red Sox 9-8 in a thriller. The Sox scored four in the top of the seventh on hits by Brady Rennison, Alex Lopez and Jordan Zager to knot the score.

Angels 12, Padres 5

TJ Kolesnik crossed the plate three times to lead the Angels to a seven-run victory over the Padres. Jordan Morgan pitched three strong innings, allowing only two runs in the victory. Conrad Iacobellis and Brian Henderson each scored twice for the Padres.
