South Tahoe falls to North Valleys, 9-2

The South Tahoe High Vikings played three scoreless innings with North Valleys, then saw the wheels fall apart in the fourth. The Panthers scored five runs in the inning, aided by three Viking errors, as they cruised to a 9-2 Sierra Division baseball win Thursday at North Valleys in Reno.

South Tahoe (7-15 overall, 1-12 division) got a run back in the bottom of the fourth when David Schue reached on an error that scored Buck Pershing. But the Vikings were unable to score again until the bottom of the seventh.

North Valleys added another run in the fifth and three more in the sixth to take a 9-1 lead into the last half inning.

South Tahoe, which only had three hits in the game, plays a doubleheader against the Panthers on Saturday at 10 a.m. at North Valleys.
