Spring powder day at Heavenly Mountain Resort (video)
Almost a foot of fresh snow was dumped on Heavenly Mountain Resort Sunday night into Monday and provided a welcome spring powder day. Snow showers continued into the afternoon on the mountain and more unsettled weather is set to hit the Tahoe Basin Wednesday through Thursday, according to the National Weather Service. A couple more inches of snow are possible and low temperatures will be in the mid to high 20s all week with highs in the 40s.

Felon arrested after long standoff with authorities in South Lake Tahoe
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. — A convicted felon was arrested Wednesday evening after a long standoff with law enforcement in South Lake Tahoe.
