St. Theresa seeks toys and food

Every year during the holiday season parishioners at St. Theresa Catholic Church provide food and gifts to people in the community who may go without during the Christmas season. St. Theresas coordinates with Christmas Cheer and other organizations in the Tahoe Basin so that every family that is in need in the area has been helped.

The need is great this year and donations of new toys and gifts for adults and children are needed as well as nonperishable food items. Last year more than 200 families were helped and this year it is estimated that the number of families will reach 250 to 300. The distribution date has been set for Dec. 20 and all donations should be brought to the parish center, 1170 Rufus Allen Blvd., or the rectory, 1041 Lyons Ave., by Dec. 18.
