Staples and Boys & Girls Club join forces for school supplies

Karen Houser
Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe

As the school year gets off to a fast and furious start, it is time to think about all those school supplies. The Boys & Girls Club of Lake Tahoe has been chosen by Staples to participate in its third annual back-to-school campaign. Partnering with Do Something.org, Staples is collecting school supplies to be distributed directly to our local middle school Boys & Girls Club members. The campaign ends Sept. 18, so stop by Staples to participate. The other option of the campaign is for supporters to make a $1 register donation. Proceeds from this portion of the campaign will be used to purchase program supplies.

Our local Staples store is one of 1,500 across the country participating in the campaign. According to store manager Kurt Hutchison, “Staples’ employees are proud to be able to help the youth in our community by promoting this campaign to our customers. It has been exciting to see the bin fill up with so many great school supplies as well as the generosity of our community making a donation at the register.”

This is just one more example of our South Lake Tahoe “village” that is helping to give our youth the support they need.
