Stateline casinos report 24 percent increase over last year
Nevada casinos won $1.14 billion from gamblers in May for a 1.5 percent gain compared with the same month a year ago – and set a record for the win in any single month.
The state Gaming Control Board reported Thursday that the win, about $2 million higher than the previous record win for a month that was set in January 2006, occurred despite a slump in baccarat winnings.
With $32.1 million reported, Stateline casinos had a 24.2 percent increase compared to the previous year.
“Win” is a gross figure, with no operating costs or other expenses deducted. It represents casino revenue only, not hotel, restaurant or bar revenues.
