Stateline to stateline bikeway project moves forward
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – Douglas County, working in partnership with 11 other local state and federal agencies, has completed its approved feasibility report for an entire bike path around the Nevada portion of Lake Tahoe.
The county also approved the South Demonstration Project Environmental Assessment to complete a bike path from Stateline, Nevada to Roundhill Pines Beach. The demonstration project is planned for construction in 2012.

Douglas County also recently received a Recreational Trails grant for $200,000 for Kahle Drive Trailhead facilities.
These grants, combined with State Question One funds, will allow Douglas County to construct the South Demonstration project beginning in the fall of 2012 using 100 percent grant funds.
The Douglas County Board of Commissioners plans to hear a presentation on this project and take action on the environmental impact, feasibility report and allocation of funding to complete the work today at 1:30 p.m. meeting today in Lake Tahoe.
