Oh boy, it’s going to be one hilarious Christmas having headliner Steve White up here. Why? Steve excels over the holidays, being both black and Jewish (so much in common). Steve refers to himself as a “Bew” (part black, part Jew). He’s not an Orthodox Jew, mind you, as he loves his bacon (don’t we all?) and also loves to flaunt his “oy-ness.” Steve will perform this weekend at the Improv at Harveys with Nick Youssef.

Steve’s improvisational skills are off the chart and no two nights are ever alike. That’s why he’s so much fun on my morning radio show — you just never know what he’s going to say next. Steve used to have his own radio show in Las Vegas and we would call one another and give the weather forecast for each other’s area.

His acting credentials include the movies, “Coming to America,” “Harlem Nights,” “Clockers,” “Do the Right Thing,” “Jungle Fever,”“Mo-Better Blues,” “Ford Fairlane,” “Other People’s Money” and “Goosed” (an independent film with Joan Rivers and Tiffany Tilly). On the small screen Steve has been on Comedy Central, HBO, BET, “Hangin’ With Mr. Cooper,” “Living Single,” “Caroline’s Comedy Hour,” “Def Comedy Jam,” “Comic Strip Live,” “Showtime At The Apollo” and “Yo! MTV Raps. Closer to home Steve took top honors beating out hundreds of comedians in the annual San Francisco Comedy Competition. Be it films, comedy, television or writing Steve does it all.

Making only his second appearance up here is Nick Youssef. Based in Los Angeles Nick is also an actor in addition to being a comedian. Nick has been seen in numerous national TV commercials, has made guest appearances on sitcoms such as NBC’s “Animal Practice,” he’s in the popular video game, “LA Noire” and he made a stand-up appearance on “Last Call with Carson Daly.” When not on tour Nick can be seen performing stand up at The Comedy Store, Laugh Factory and Improv comedy clubs in Hollywood. Last year Nick’s first stand-up album, “Stop Not Owning This,” debuted in the top five of the iTunes comedy charts and was featured earlier this year in Esquire Magazine. Nick also co-hosts, “The Occasionally Awesome” podcast on the All Things Comedy network and writes articles for Esquire and Paste magazines.

It’s nice having him up here over the holidays.
