STHS lays out to-do list for prospective athletes

South Tahoe High student athletes planning to join a fall sports team must meet several requirements being permitted to practice.

The school is asking that clearance paperwork be turned in by Friday. The school office is open from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Freshmen and juniors are also required to undergo concussion testing and must have a physical exam before being allowed to participate in practices. The school is conducting concussion tests from 8-10 a.m. Thursday and Friday in the library.



Prospective football players are under a more urgent deadline since practice begins for the Vikings’ three teams on Thursday at 2 p.m. The remainder of South Tahoe’s fall teams open practice on Monday.

Parents and students are advised to enter the school campus via the main entrance and use parking near drop-off circle near the school’s two gymnasiums.



Opening practice times on Monday for other fall sports include: boys’ varsity and JV soccer, 7 a.m. and 5-7 p.m. at the Community Playfields at Lake Tahoe Community College; boys’ and girls’ cross country, 8:30 a.m. at the school’s football field; girls’ golf, 3 p.m. at Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course; boys’ tennis, 3 p.m. at the South Tahoe Middle School courts; girls’ varsity and JV soccer, 7 a.m. and 5-7 p.m. at the Community Youth Sports Complex at South Tahoe Middle School; girls’ tennis, 6 p.m. at STMS courts; and volleyball, all levels meet at 5 p.m. at the school.
