STHS places well at home meet

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The Vikings cross country teams placed in the top three in their divisions. The boys first finished fourth and the girls finished second at the South Tahoe Retro Relays on Sept. 29. The boys’ second team finished sixth. The boys’ first team had a time of 51:59, while their second team finished at 52:29. The girls finished with a time of 59:45.

Boys’ coach Dominique Westlake said it was chance for the teams to get in a race in-between two big ones. Recently the two teams traveled to the Stanford Invitational and head to the Central Valley for the Clovis Invitational on Saturday.

“The guys took it real serious,” said Westlake. “It’s a chance for the guys to unwind for a bit.”



The girls were led by Bridgett Moffat who finished in 17:35. She was followed by Kate Carlson at 18:13, Janelle Spandau-Buts at 18:41, Emily Dawes at 18:49, Zaira Monette at 18:53 and Rochelle Sawyer at 26:05.
