STHS tennis teams split against Bishop Manogue
SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The South Tahoe girls’ tennis team remained undefeated on the season beating Bishop Manogue on the road, while the boys suffered their first loss of the season to Bishop at home. The girls won 12-5 and the boys lost 11-7.
The girls continued to see strong play from their top two singles, Maggie Lee and Cassandra Marin. Both won in the first and second round, with Lee winning in the third. Marin did not compete in the third round. Their doubles teams were also impressive on the day, with Rosalie Annand and Kelsey Meteger winning all three of their matches and only allowing two points on the day. Emily Rives and Grace Bronken won in both of their matches, and Casey Willitts and Sarah Jobbins won two of their three matches.
The boys had a little rougher time with Bishop. Their doubles teams have been their strength all year, and they were able to pull out five wins on the day, but were only able to win two singles matches from Dustin Goodyear and Chad Kassamanni.
Both teams are in action again on Thursday against Galena High School. The girls will play at home, while the boys are on the road.
