STHS to play for consolation title

CARSON CITY, Nev. – South Tahoe High used a 23-7 third quarter to take a commanding lead over Wooster en route to a 62-45 win Friday in a loser’s bracket game of the 35th annual Carson Lions/Capital City Classic at Morse Burley Gym.

South Tahoe led just 27-25 at the half, but lead 50-32 after three thanks to the 23-point explosion. Roger Williams led the surge with six points, while Cale Backinger added five and Jacob Stowell four.

Stowell led South Tahoe’s offense with 17 points, while Backinger added 11. South Tahoe plays for the consolation title Saturday at 11:45 against either Reed or Central Valley.
