Storm update: Schools closed

Feb. 14 at 7 a.m.: All Lake Tahoe Unified School District schools are closed on Friday.

Zephyr Elementary School and all Incline Village schools are also closed.

7:20 a.m.: SR 88 is closed from 3.5 mi east of Silver Lake to Kirkwood /Carson Spur/ (Amador Co) due to snow and 2 mi east of Kirkwood to 5 mi west of Picketts Jct /Carson Pass/ (Alpine Co) due to avalanche control.



SR 89 around Emerald Bay is closed due to snow.

Douglas County School District canceled all classes on Thursday, Feb. 13, and Washoe County School District canceled classes for Incline Village schools.



Lake Tahoe Unified School District said they are on track for a normal school day.

Chains are required on Highway 50 from Twin Bridges to Meyers and on State Route 89.
