Storytime begins a new year

SOUTH LAKE TAHOE, Calif. – The South Lake Tahoe Branch Library Storytime schedule for January was recently announced. All storytime programs are free.

Spanish Storytime – 6 p.m. Wednesdays. This storytime is presented completely in Spanish and includes stories, fingerplays, and much more.

Mother Goose on the Loose – 11 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Thursdays. An interactive storytime program designed specifically for babies ages 0-2 years, using nursery rhymes, music and movement to promote early literacy and a lifelong love of reading. Due to the popularity of this program, an extra session time has been added.

Preschool Storytime – 11 a.m. Fridays. A fun filled hour with stories, rhymes, fingerplays, singing, crafts and more for ages 3-5 years.

Bilingual Storytime – Cancelled for January due to the Martin Luther King holiday. Most months, it’s at 11 a.m., the second Saturday of the month. Hear stories, do crafts, and learn a few words in Spanish or English.

Let’s Read Together Storytime – 11 a.m. Jan. 21 (the third Saturday of the month). A family-based storytime with early learning reading tips. Each family will go home with a new copy of the featured book. Please note: Pre-registeration is required for this storytime due to limited space. 

Musical Storytime – 11 a.m. Jan. 28 (the fourth Saturday of the month). Music, movement, puppets and singing will capture the attention of your young child as they shimmy their way into literacy.
