STPUD will hold second public meeting

The South Tahoe Public Utility District heard from customers on a wide range of sewer rate options at a public workshop earlier this month. Now the STPUD Board of Directors will hold another workshop to refine the options.

The meeting is scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at the district’s Tahoe Paradise Field Office, 1834 Sante Fe.

The district’s sewer rates are scheduled to increase by 3.5 percent on July 1, but homeowners and businesses may see higher increases depending on the outcome of the workshop. Up for consideration are various options to correct rate inequalities between different types of sewer customers. That means some customers may see an increase of up to 10 percent, while some might get increases of less than 3.5 percent.

Customers are encouraged to call Daine Noble, STPUD customer service manager, for more information on the proposed increases call (530) 544-6474, ext. 221.
