Blustery and cooler conditions can be expected today with lake wind advisories likely for all areas of the basin as a very strong low pressure area for July makes its move toward the Oregon coastline, bringing us weather conditions more typical of systems in early September.

Expect mostly sunny to partly cloudy skies today with even a few light showers possible mainly north of Truckee. Winds will generally be from the southwest in the 15 to 25 mph range with gusts to 40 mph.

Gusts to 60 mph are possible over ridges. Highs will drop today to the upper 60s to lower 70s with lows tonight in the upper 30s to upper 40s, depending on how quickly the winds die out. It looks like fine weather will continue for the rest of the week with no threat of any thunderstorms for the next several days.
