Sunday ski and snow report for Kirkwood, Heavenly and Sierra-at-Tahoe

Sierra-at-Tahoe is now opened with four lifts and 12 trails ready. Snow totals amount 10 to 14 inches, packed powder from base to summit, and machined groomed.With the past three days 22 inches of snow fell at the resort.

Heavenly Mountain Resort reports the storm system brought 21 to 24 inches of snow to the mountain. The resort has opened Big Easy, Easy Street and California Trail. Lifts open at 8:30 a.m. Call 1-800 Heavenly or go to http://www.skiheavenly.com for the latest.

The slopes at Kirkwood fetched well over a foot and a half of snow, 15 to 27 inches from top to bottom, according to its Web site.



Kirkwood has opened additional lifts and terrain with Chair 1 and 5 opening this morning and Chair 11 by afternoon. Crews are working around the clock with their efforts focused on getting Chair 6 open as early as this weekend, according to its Web site.

The Cross Country and Snowshoe Center is opened with 5km of groomed meadows trails for skiing or snow shoeing, and 10km of ungroomed trails for snow shoeing only. Call the center at (209) 258-7248 for more information.
