Professional photographer Tim Rains will share his favorite Lake Tahoe photos and his knowledge of photography July 26 at the Lake of the Sky Amphitheater at the Taylor Creek Visitor Center. The free, photo adventure will begin at 8:30 p.m.

Rains will share his beautiful photos of his extensive trips through the western national parks and Tahoe area during the last five years. Rains is a former Forest Service employee and the current recreation coordinator for Explore Tahoe: An Urban Trailhead, brand new visitor center that opened recently in the Heavenly Village shopping center.

Thursday’s program, The Sunrise Edition, will highlight Rain’s interest in shooting early morning sunrises. He will also talk about his expertise in the Sunrise Myth and the science and practical application of capturing those great sunrise photos. The evening program will be followed by a field trip the following morning to capture the early morning light as it hits Mt. Tallac and is reflected in the still waters of Fallen Leaf Lake.

The program is sponsored by the Forest Service Lake Tahoe Basin Management Unit and the Tahoe Heritage Foundation. The foundation is a nonprofit organization that supports the environmental education programs conducted by the Forest Service in the Tahoe Basin.

For more information on this and other programs offered by the Forest Service contact the Lake Tahoe Visitor Center at Taylor Creek at (530) 543-2474.
