Swearing-in slated for school board member

Duane Wallace, the provisional appointment to the Lake Tahoe Unified School District board, will be sworn in Tuesday.

The school board will meet at 6 p.m. at the district office. Board members will also hear a presentation, and possibly take action, on the 2009-10 budget.

But that’s not all the school district happenings for the week. The Citizens’ Bond Oversight Committee will meet at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the South Tahoe High School Library.

The nine-member committee is required as part of the passage of Measure G, a $64.5 million bond approved by voters in November.

Committee members will tour the construction site at the high school, and LTUSD Facilities Director Steve Morales will explain the timeline for future projects.

The group will also review the status of the general obligation bonds and current expenditures.
