Swimmer to tackle length of Lake Tahoe for charity
A local woman will attempt to swim the length of Lake Tahoe – 22 miles – on Aug. 20 to raise money for education for children in Africa.
Tiffany Carter is collecting donations at http://www.swimforafrica.com. Funds raiser will go toward a school in Anthi River, Kenya.
Variety Show on stage Saturday
Tickets are on sale now for the Tahoe Variety Show at 1 p.m. Aug. 14 at the South Lake Tahoe Senior Center, 3050 Lake Tahoe Blvd.
Admission is $5 for children and seniors age 50 and up, and $10 for adults age 18-49. Doors open at noon.
The show is directed and produced by Francine Garcia and Arline June Gordon.
There will be a 15-minute intermission half way through the numbers. Tickets are at the senior center Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. For tickets, call (530) 545-1277.
