Swine flu confirmed in Reno area

A Nevada health official says the first case of swine flu has been confirmed in a person in the Reno area.

Nevada state Health Division spokeswoman Martha Framsted said state laboratory officials received lab results Wednesday from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta showing that a patient in Washoe County has the disease.

Framsted wouldn’t release any other information about the patient, who she says is “recovering well.”
