Embassy Suites Hotel is hosting an exhibition in partnership with the Tahoe Art League. The opening reception is scheduled for Friday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Part of the proceeds from the sale of the collection will be donated to victims of the Angora fire. Several Tahoe Art League members lost their homes in the blaze.

The collection comes from an educational perspective, representing nine artists working in very different media and styles. A walking map will guide visitors through the hotel lobby, explaining how the artists work with watercolors, acrylics, photography, silk painting, mixed media and etching. The exhibit will remain until December 2007.

Artists featured include, Anna Louise Darden, Bonita Paulis, Dorothy Davis, Pam Breakas, Renee Ekleberry, Robert Schimmel, Sean Hernandez, Shelly Hocknell, and Susan Davis. The exhibition offers a family-friendly showing, as well as a variety of subjects to please many tastes.

The relationship between Embassy Suites and the Tahoe Art League is a long established one. Embassy offers their visitors a glimpse of the local art scene and artists gain a diversity in their audience. The collection will be changed quarterly, and all works are for sale.

The artists will be present at the reception, answering questions and offering insight into their works, and revealing their creative secrets. Wine tasting is offered courtesy of Redwood Creek Winery of California. For more information call (530) 544-2313 or visit http://www.talart.org.
