Tahoe Choir announces start of rehearsals

Provided to the Tribune

The Tahoe Choir, under the direction of Linda Mitchell, will begin its fall rehearsal schedule at 7 p.m. Sept. 19 in the choral rehearsal room in the Fine Arts Building at Lake Tahoe Community College.

The December concerts will feature Handel’s “The Messiah.” The choir would love to see former members join the rehearsals and presentations the second week of December to mark the 35th anniversary tree concerts of this glorious music.

There aren’t many community choirs around that can claim 35 years of consecutive concerts, especially with the Tahoe Choir’s track record of all milieu of choral music that includes classical, pop, folk, a cappella, and music with orchestra.

“Hard work and dedication … sent singers to New York’s Carnegie Hall last May to join other groups in the Brahms’ Requiem,” Mitchell said.

For further information call Mitchell at (530) 54l-2635 or board president Linda Keel at (775) 588-7794.
