Tahoe girl wins pageant

Riana Cerceo, 12, was recently selected to represent California at the 2005 Miss American Preteen Pageant, when she was crowned Miss Northern California Preteen 2005.
She is the daughter of Tahoe Family Dentist’s Drs. Chris and Jeanie Cerceo.
Cerceo, a seventh-grader with a 4.0 grade point average, also won the first-place photogenic award and the first-place talent award at the state pageant in San Jose. Her dance, “Baby, I’m a Star,” garnered her several awards when she competed as a member of the Dance Visions Performing Arts Center Competition Dance Team.
Additionally she has held the local titles of Junior Miss Lake Tahoe in the elementary and middle school divisions.
As the Northern California Preteen, she will attend the national pageant for her age group in Florida and Disney World, where she will compete for the national pageant title of Miss American Preteen and thousands of dollars in cash awards, prizes and scholarships.
Nationwide, state winners and state pageant finalists will compete in the 20th annual national scholarship competition organized by American Coed Pageants Inc. National talent, speech, academic achievement, community service, photogenic, personality, most promising model, best actress and national cover girl and hostess contests will be held in addition to the national pageant winner’s contest.
